Taipei remains at the top of an Internations survey of the best cities in the world to live for expats.
“The Best & Worst Cities for Expats in 2019” survey of Internations members, a global community and information site for those living and working abroad, asked more than 20,000 expats to answer questions about their new home. Questions revolved around four major indexes: Quality of Urban Living, Getting Settled, Urban Work Life, and Finance & Housing.
Taipei placed number ONE for the second year in a row. Hong Kong on the other hand came in on 52nd place.
Taipei impressed with its quality of life, transportation, healthcare, friendliness, and cost of living, while essentially having no real downsides. The report quotes one respondent from Paraguay praising “the convenience of everything — access to food, great transportation, and cheap medical services” as a highlight of life in Taipei.
One area that is important for everyone, especially families with families is healthcare and this is one the areas where Taipei took home the number one position. This is not surprising since the Taiwan healthcare system has been selected as the best in the world according to the 2019 edition of the CEOWORLD Health Care Index, which ranks 89 countries according to factors that contribute to overall health.
